Support the Gandhi Nivas fundraising dinner
Enjoy a great night out and hear Sir John Kirwan talk while supporting the work by Gandhi Nivas to reduce family harm. The fundraising event and auction on 30 June is raising money for the charity established by Nirvana Health co-founder Ranjna Patel. Gandhi Nivas helps men to change their behaviour, reducing the likelihood of further family harm and increasing safety for families. It offers free counselling, emergency housing and referral to social services. The fundraising dinner is at Waipuna Lodge in Mount Wellington, Auckland. Find out more on the Gandhi Nivas website.
Ranjna Patel receives New Year's Honour
Nirvana Health Group director and founder Ranjna Patel has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours for her services to health and the Indian community. Ranjna was awarded the Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM). The honour was another exciting surprise for Ranjna who in December won the Deloitte Top 200 Visionary Leader award for 2016. This award also acknowledged her work in both healthcare and the community.
PM visits and praises Mt Roskill clinic
Mt Roskill Healthcare GP and Director Dr Rajiv Sood thought inviting John Key to the 25th anniversary of the Mt Roskill Healthcare Richardson Rd clinic would be a fitting tribute to staff and patients. And he was right; the Prime Minister and National candidate for the Mt Roskill by-election Parmjeet Parmar accepted Dr Sood’s invitation for a visit on 11 November 2016. Mr Key told the audience, packed with patients, staff and national media, that he would like to see more examples around the country of what Nirvana Health clinics, like Mt Roskill Healthcare, were achieving. He described Nirvana Health as ‘cutting edge’ and ‘top class’. Mr Key last visited the clinic a decade ago, when he was Opposition Leader.
